Implementation of Anti-Tailgating at the Gates:

According to many Boca Pointe residents, tailgating at the resident entry gates has been an ongoing problem for quite some time. After numerous discussions, and researching the options to prevent this from happening, the Master Board recently voted, and approved the installation of “Trap arm Gates”, or commonly referred to as,” Anti- Tailgating Gates”. These Gates are will not allow entry to any vehicle by way of following someone to closely to gain unauthorized entry, or just simply an impatient person trying to push through. These new “trap arm gates” will ensure that there are no unauthorized entries allowed through the resident lanes.

So, you might be thinking, how do these gates work?

These gates work in tandem with one another. When a vehicle pulls up to the first gate arm, it will open, allowing access only to the second gate in front you. Upon arrival at the second gate, the first gate arm, (now behind you), will close. The second gate arm, (now in front of you), will then open, only allowing access to one vehicle at a time.

Subsequently, the vehicle operator must use caution when approaching these gate arms, just as they always have been with the current existing single gate arms. Nobody wants to be in a position of having their vehicle damaged because of a gate arm strike or damaging a gate arm due to a gate arm strike. A “fender bender” goes without saying. As always, please use caution when approaching these new trap arm gates.

The Main Gate, (Gate 1), at Powerline Road and Boca Pointe Drive, and (Gate 2) at S.W. 18^TH Street and Boca Pointe Drive, will have these trap gates installed in the very near future.

The Villages that will be affected are Palomar, Esplanada, Caravelle, Meridiana, El Viento, La Mirada, Southwinds, La Corniche, La Paz, and El Dorado. Please plan accordingly. There will be another future announcement on the actual installation date.
