Boca Pointe Community Association

NEW GATEHOUSE PROCEDURES

March 17, 2020

Dear Boca Pointe Residents,

These past few days have seen a number of events which raised the level of concern for the health of our residents, community, guests, vendors and staff, many of whom are in the high-risk group as identified by the CDC.  Management and Security have taken further steps to protect Boca Pointe. These actions are being put into place to minimize health risks to residents, guests, staff and the community we call home.

The following are some changes to gatehouse and patrol security procedures that are being implemented. These changes are designed to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and comply as much as possible with recommendations from the CDC and local authorities while still providing security services to Boca Pointe.

Gate Officers will not accept any photo identification, pass or other instrument into their hands. Officers will be provided pads and paper to record names from visual inspection of photo identification and our pass scanner cords have been extended so that passes may be scanned at the guest vehicle.

This policy may cause some increase in our processing time at the gates. It is recommended that residents limit non-essential guests and vendors during this period.

Below is a sample list of Essential Personnel:

  • Nursing      Aides
  • Food      Delivery
  • Appliance      Delivery
  • Emergency      Repairs
  • Cleaning      Personnel
  • Pool      Service Companies
  • Automotive      Transports
  • Medical      Deliveries and Assistance

Patrol Officers will not enter residences unless it is an emergency response, e.g. there is a serious threat to life or property. Any issues with alarms, or property issues inside your home / unit must be reported to the appropriate vendor or management company representative. Patrol can assist you with making contact with these individuals, but will not enter your home. Patrol will respond normally to all other calls (parking complaints, suspicious persons, etc.).

Boca Pointe has a high percentage of ‘vulnerable population’ and the CDC advises that asymptomatic transmission of COVID-19 is occurring, so our response must be all-encompassing. We should all be complying with the recommendations of social distancing, sanitization, and (when necessary) self-quarantine for the safety of ourselves, our families and neighbors.

Your Management team is available via phone and email, we are minimizing face to face meetings at this time.  However, we are available for the processing and pick up on new / expired transponders.

Please take a few minutes to think of your neighbors who may be alone and/or suffer from medical conditions making them especially vulnerable.  A simple phone call to check in on someone or sharing a needed item can make a real difference.   Acting as compassionate, caring neighbors during this uncertain time can build a better community that lasts long after the current crisis has passed.

Best Regards,
